Original songs from Chris Carr on guitar and vocals accompanied by Simon Ball on bass, drums from Alex Ivanov, co vocal and Shruti from Rosana Coll and violin from Rupert Stone their sound is earthy passionate heartfelt original acoustic roots and has been compared Tim Buckley’s in the 60s but with a lighter instrumental feel.
Chris Carr has been writing songs and performing since the mid nighties. Enjoying some local success with the Matlock and Chesterfield trio Left Hand Drive (with Simon Ball). They also took their show on mini tours of Norfolk, Cornwall and the west coast of Scotland between 1997 and the early 2000s.
In 2017 Chris started ‘Leftychris’ as a purely original solo project. In 2020 he released a self titled album of songs (still available online) featuring guest musicians which then organically grew into the Leftychris Band.
Over the last few years they've performed at festivals such as Stainsby, Derby Folk, Holmfirth and Folk in a Field.
Last year, in order to reflect the evolution of the band and their tight, together and jammy sound (“It's no longer just about me” says Chris) they changed their name to Folde (from the olde English for mother earth).
