tickets →COWBIRD are a troupe of musicians from across the sonic universe of Sheffield who play an earthy mix of dusty blues, harmony folk, old gospel and deep soul. Expect dancing bass, birdsong clarinet, railroad guitar and vocal harmonies: lots of songs you'll know from across the musical anthology of grass roots Americana and some COWBIRD originals too. Featuring Alastair Gordon on double bass, Laura Hegarty on clarinet, Jack Avery & Heather Morgan on acoustic guitar, and the legendary Rob Nutt on percussion, with vocals from all five.

A mostly sheffield based six piece playing swinging music, from 1930s and 40s gypsy swing through to early fifties bebop with hints of western swing. Its players are seasoned session and touring musicians who have worked with major names on the uk and international scenes.
