Singing Workshop 1-4pm

Join award winning Irish folk singer Chan Reid for an afternoon of learning how to sing sean nos “old style” unaccompanied Irish songs. Learn where to find rare and unusual songs to add to your solo singing repertoire and how to phrase and deliver them in an authentic Irish sean nos style. We will focus in particular on the unique ornamentation “voice rolls” that are a feature of this type of singing. All songs will be taught in the ENGLISH language. Suitable for all levels including complete beginners. We will also explore general singing techniques and learn useful breathing and vocal warm up exercises. This is a 3 hour workshop from 1 - 4pm with a 15 minute recess at 230pm.
