When this project toured fables of the reconstruction in 2025, all four original members of r.e.m. joined them on stage in athens, georgia. This is the award-winning actor michael shannon singing with musician jason narducy and a band of long-serving american indie players, working through a different r.e.m. album in full each tour. The september 2026 uk run marks forty years of lifes rich pageant, played start to finish and followed by other r.e.m. songs.

A long-serving touring bassist for bob mould and superchunk, and a chicago-scene songwriter in his own right under the name split single. His writing runs to punchy power-pop melodies and wry, affecting lyrics, rooted in 80s college rock and 90s indie. Through 2026 he is on the road playing r.e.m.'s 'lifes rich pageant' in full for the album's 40th anniversary.
