A long-serving touring bassist for bob mould and superchunk, and a chicago-scene songwriter in his own right under the name split single. His writing runs to punchy power-pop melodies and wry, affecting lyrics, rooted in 80s college rock and 90s indie. Through 2026 he is on the road playing r.e.m.'s 'lifes rich pageant' in full for the album's 40th anniversary.
