Hidden Herd Presents: BIG FEAR Big Fear are a rising London duo comprised of Alice Edwards and Jack Wilkinson. Dystopian and operatic, their sound blends elements of alt-pop and indie rock, led by the magnetic storytelling of singer Alice Edwards, who creates a space where outsiders can belong. The band’s vision sprang into life with their flawless debut EP ‘Career Day’, produced by Charlie Andrew (alt-J, Wolf Alice) - a collection of songs that are set to surpass 350,000 Spotify streams and have been featured on editorial playlists such as New Music Friday, Melomania, Hot New Bands and Peach. Backed by praise from BBC Radio 6 Music, Dork and Clash Magazine, plus spins on John Kennedy’s Radio X show and BBC Music Introducing, Big Fear appeared at Truck Festival last summer and recently supported The Howlers at London’s Scala. It is spiky alt-pop built on industrial synths and live drums, with each track written as a dialogue between two characters. Recent single 'mildew' pushes hardest towards straight indie rock.

A hope & ruin ones-to-watch pick and a regular on brighton's new-music bills. The songwriting pairs dreamy analogue synths with a theatrical, slightly off-kilter streak, carried by big soaring vocals. The result is cinematic and a bit uncanny, nostalgic and strange at the same time.

A loud women scene favourite who call their own sound 'dingepop': occult pop from a seaside tourist trap. Jangling guitar and dance-weight bass sit under bright synths and two voices singing to each other, with a witchy streak running through the lyrics. It started as a bedroom project written over a summer of twelve-hour shifts on brighton beach.

Has picked up repeat bbc radio 6 music plays and radio x airplay inside a couple of years of releasing music. The brighton solo artist welds distorted grunge guitar to industrial synths and glitching electronics, with a voice that shifts from a snarl to something much softer mid-song. August 2026 single 'like adam would' is the most visceral of it so far.
