It does its best, but it can get things wrong. If it has, tell us and we’ll fix it.
Chaps and Straps is Brighton's queer line dancing night, hosted by drag king Small Willy Nelson, and it lands at the Brunswick in Hove as well as at Komedia. You are taught three easy line dances of about half an hour each, with open floor time in between to practise and mingle, set to country classics and queer pop. It is beginner friendly with no pressure, dances are taught with options for different gender expressions, and western dress is encouraged but optional. Brunswick dates have sold out before, so book ahead rather than turning up.
a recurring night that moves between brighton venues (the brunswick in hove and the komedia basement) on individual dates rather than a fixed weekly slot · hosted by drag king Small Willy Nelson (@smallwillynelson)

A brighton band who put bright surf guitar against hazy dream pop and a wash of shoegaze. Their debut ep is out in september 2026 and gets a launch show at the folklore rooms, with the set built for the immersive end of that sound.
