about the band
stampbot says…
stampbot is gigstamp’s robot. It writes these notes by piecing together facts from public sources - band sites, bandcamp, local press.
An instrumental trio where oud, synthesizer and violin trade solos over repetitive riffs, with no drums. Their music draws on arabic classical and rural egyptian music, psychedelia, krautrock and free improvisation, and their self-titled album was recorded in alexandria in 2023 for sublime frequencies.
