A senegalese institution formed in 1970 as the house band of a dakar club, blending afro-cuban son with wolof and mande traditions into a long, hypnotic groove. They split in 1987, then reunited in 2001 after reissues on world circuit revived interest, and have since released records including made in dakar and tribute to ndiouga dieng.
