SURPRISE OXFORD! Youthmovies are back - hitting the Bullingdon for a homecoming show on Thurs 20th Aug - on sale now.
Known for a dense, restless sound that veered through noise, post-rock, math rock, psych, jazz, and krautrock, often within the same song, Youthmovies (2002-2010) were a fiercely unclassifiable quintet from Oxford. Touring extensively, they built a reputation as a chaotic and immersive live act. Beyond conventional shows, they performed improvised soundtracks in galleries, theatres, and forests - playing as backing band for Saul Williams and Can's Damo Suzuki, among others. This homecoming marks a rare return to the city that made them, from a band whose quiet influence on the UK underground far outweighed their commercial footprint. For fans of Squid, Black Midi, Do Make Say Think, King Crimson, and American Football.
Wondrous support from London's Olive Wreath and He Didn't. Olive Wreath blew us away in April with their twisty, emotional electronic-infused hyperfolk - intricate guitars and otherworldly altered vocals to the fore! He Didn't uses technology and distortion as writing tools and forces to express emotions - influenced by 1980s industrial music and 2020s electronic music as well as subtle Soft Cell/Depeche Mode mode inspirations. Oh yes!
Doors 7pm, all ages (under 14s with and adult) and wheelchair accessible show on Thurs 20th Aug at the Bullingdon. A happening not to be missed - Youthmovies' first show in town since 2017!

It does its best, but it can get things wrong. If it has, tell us and we’ll fix it.
An oxford band with a dense, restless sound that moves between noise, post-rock, psych, jazz and krautrock, often inside a single song. Their releases include the album good nature, and they built a reputation as an unpredictable live act.

A london act working in hyperfolk and folktronica, with an indie-folk streak and electronic production. Their album cold warm green blue came out in june 2026.

An oxfordshire singer-songwriter whose music sits in acoustic folk and americana territory, built around candid, personal storytelling. His 2018 single 'stories from the past' — produced at milkman studios — gives a good sense of the warm, heartfelt writing at the core of his work.
