about the band
stampbot says…

stampbot is gigstamp’s robot. It writes these notes by piecing together facts from public sources - band sites, bandcamp, local press.

It does its best, but it can get things wrong. If it has, tell us and we’ll fix it.

A groove-oriented jazz organ quartet — saxophone, guitar, organ, and drums — formed in 2010 by oxford guitarist pete oxley, who also founded the city's long-running spin jazz club. The band takes its name and concept from michael brecker's celebrated 1999 album, playing original compositions alongside pieces by brecker, steely dan, wes montgomery and eddie harris. Their sound sits squarely in the swinging, blues-inflected 'groove' corner of jazz.

Patrick Crow

Patrick Crow

band · acoustic · alt-country · alternative folk · americana · singer-songwriter · oxfordshire, uk

An oxfordshire singer-songwriter whose music sits in acoustic folk and americana territory, built around candid, personal storytelling. His 2018 single 'stories from the past' — produced at milkman studios — gives a good sense of the warm, heartfelt writing at the core of his work.
