The Space Lady

An american outsider-music figure whose album made nme's "101 albums to hear before you die" and the guardian's list of the strangest records on spotify. She sings through a heavily echoed casio keyboard, turning pop songs and her own material into slow, wobbling, otherworldly versions of themselves. She was discovered busking on the streets of boston and san francisco, and has toured internationally since her greatest hits was reissued in 2013; "on the street of dreams" followed in 2018.

A taiwanese singer, guitarist and songwriter signed to the uk independent label night school records. Her songs are quiet, unhurried alternative-indie pieces built around her own guitar and voice. The 2024 two-track release "no no love" collects the last things she wrote in berlin before moving home to taiwan; she is also half of the duo aemong.

An oxford composer and multi-instrumentalist who has played the bbc introducing stage at latitude and toured the uk and europe as a drummer for other acts. Her own work, made under her name and as despicable zee, layers lo-fi beats and field recordings under something between spoken word and echoed rap, drawing on iranian ballads and irish lullabies from both sides of her family. She was born and raised in oxford, and her most recent album is "hala".
