The Nest's First Birthday

Join us on Saturday 12th September 2026 as we celebrate The Nest's first birthday.

One year ago, we opened the doors to YWMP's independent, inclusive music space in Oxford, created to centre young women, trans and non-binary people and to respond to the need for safer, more accessible and representative spaces in grassroots music.

Since then, The Nest has become home to over 180 events and workshops, from gigs, club nights and rehearsals to community events and creative workshops. Every event has been shaped by our commitment to safety, accessibility and inclusion, supported by our Safer Spaces Policy and our incredible volunteer Safeguarding & De-escalation Team.

To celebrate our first year, we're bringing everyone together for a full day of community, creativity and music, featuring a yard sale, art market, delicious food and live music into the evening. We will also be launching a compilation! Nestlings Vol. 1 is a representation of all the great music and relationships with artists that have grown out of this space in the past year, and its release date will be on The Nest’s first birthday.
