With Tashkezar, Master Elemanzer and the Brass Band Junglists

Brickwork Lizards return to the Bully for a full-venue takeover from 8pm ‘til late, bringing with them a line-up that leans as much towards the dancefloor as it does deep listening.
Their last album Haneen was described as “a joyful bound across time —moving from the crackle of a shellac-era tea dance to richly textured Middle Eastern soundscapes without missing a step."
Backed by supporters including BBC 6Music's Don Letts and Tom Robinson, the Lizards have built a sound-world that’s unmistakably theirs: pre-war jazz reframed through Arabic musical traditions, suffused with the nostalgic atmosphere of old movies.
Joining them are Tashkezar, fast emerging as one of the most compelling acts on the UK global scene, blending psych guitar, weighty funk basslines, Balkan brass, synths and soaring Arabic vocals into something expansive, hard-hitting, and great for dancing.
Support also comes from Master Elemanzer, bringing hip-hop via high magick and leftfield ritual energy, alongside indie-infused Americana, drifting like a yacht rock shipwreck, from Mack and Williams.
DJs Toby Kidd and Yaya Jojo keep things moving across the live room and bar, before a post-midnight debut from Brass Band Junglists, bringing a brand-new and brassy spin on drum & bass.

An oxfordshire singer-songwriter whose music sits in acoustic folk and americana territory, built around candid, personal storytelling. His 2018 single 'stories from the past' — produced at milkman studios — gives a good sense of the warm, heartfelt writing at the core of his work.
