Tom hingley, former lead vocalist of inspiral carpets (1989–2011), fronts the kar-pets — a tribute act performing the full catalogue of inspiral carpets hits, with the unique draw that the original singer is at the mic. His most recent solo album, the grand mal (2024), showcases heartfelt folk, soul, gospel and blues songwriting; his earlier solo record soulfire was a bandcamp new & notable pick in 2022.
