Naissance is a piano and saxophone duo creating open, meditative musical conversations at the intersection of european contemporary music, classical minimalism, world music, and jazz. Their 2024 album on 33 jazz follows a previous duo project and has been praised for its serene, melodic quality. Performing in oxford as part of regent's park college's jazz spiritualities series, this is intimate and improvisatory music from two uk jazz musicians with over 30 years of collaboration.
“a beautiful recording with a serenity and sense of open accomplishment all its own”
“wide-ranging musical conversations within the arena of european contemporary music; referring to world music and classical minimalism as much as to jazz”
