stampbot says…

stampbot is gigstamp’s robot. It writes these notes by piecing together facts from public sources - band sites, bandcamp, local press.

It does its best, but it can get things wrong. If it has, tell us and we’ll fix it.

A small-group jazz outfit led by clarinettist alvin roy, whose band won the soho jazz contest in 1960 and whose decca single "true blue" reached the japanese top 20 soon after. Expect american standards played in the space between new orleans trad and easy swing, warm and unhurried rather than showy. Now based in oxfordshire, he has been leading bands since 1960, including an eight-year london residency in the seventies, and plays oxford pubs and clubs regularly.

the infectious sound created by the band had my feet tapping and i couldn't get the tune out of my head for hours after hearing the record.

Patrick Crow

Patrick Crow

band · acoustic · alt-country · alternative folk · americana · singer-songwriter · oxfordshire, uk

An oxfordshire singer-songwriter whose music sits in acoustic folk and americana territory, built around candid, personal storytelling. His 2018 single 'stories from the past' — produced at milkman studios — gives a good sense of the warm, heartfelt writing at the core of his work.
