A special one-off gig at Master Rhythm Studios

Santa Carla/ Matt Sewell/ Pasteboard Masks/ Ady Davey

A special one-off gig at Master Rhythm Studios

We were forced to cancel our planned Gappy Tooth gig on this night, because of venue unavailability, but instead we've concocted a fun alternative at Master Rhythm a rehearsal and recording studio in Templars Square, Cowley. For a very small price a select group can enjoy the sounds of

Possibly vampiric goth-pop from Santa Carla Literate psych folk from Charms Against The Evil Eye's Matt Sewell The artistic, oddball songs of Pasteboard Masks The avuncular bluesy presence of East Oxford legend Ady Davey

There'll also be a little bar for tinnies, to maintain the house party vibe.

Doors 19.45, music from 20.00. Entry is on Pound Way - staff will be on hand to give you access to Templars Square, and take you upstairs to the venue.

Oxford-based illustrator, author and acoustic musician matt sewell plays intimate, self-taught finger-picked guitar music rooted in nature, earth magic and cosmic wandering — unhurried and gently trance-inducing. His project sewell & the gong released the debut lp 'patron saint of elsewhere' on dsppr records in august 2025, drawing remixes from justin robertson and ruf dug on earlier releases. He has also curated the acclaimed 'a crushing glow' compilation series for caught by the river.

Patrick Crow

band · acoustic · alt-country · alternative folk · americana · singer-songwriter · oxfordshire, uk

An oxfordshire singer-songwriter whose music sits in acoustic folk and americana territory, built around candid, personal storytelling. His 2018 single 'stories from the past' — produced at milkman studios — gives a good sense of the warm, heartfelt writing at the core of his work.
