Pica pica, Pica pica! presents ĠENN + Marla & Crying In Colour

Too damn right! The gobsmacking Anglo-Maltese shapeshifters ĠENN are making a very welcome return to Pica pica, Pica pica! “ĠENN are fairly peerless in terms of rock groups at present… Seamlessly incorporate modal melodies – speaking to Flamenco and Rebitiko – into their salubrious take on heavy rock. It’s quite something to behold; they are blessed with a drummer with a perfect handle on power and subtlety to anchor these songs defined by movement so beautifully” NARC If you’ve caught ĠENN before, you’ll know what an incredible experience is heading your way and you’ll be gagging to grab tickets. “Complex, ambitious post-punk with the chaotic energy of an informal jam” Pitchfork If ĠENN are new to you, prepare for a rare sensory-enveloping cinematic set that captivates immediately and resonates long after. Get tickets. “It’s got that rush I love in music – chaotic, beautiful, and impossible to resist, working on it felt like chasing pure energy, capturing something wild but true” Jonny Hostile, producer Reverberation ĠENN embrace alt-rock, post-punk, psychedelia, technology and tradition. You need all of that in your life. Currently blurring the lines in the dark space inhabited by trip-hop and industrial noise, Off With Their Records’ act Marla have previously blagged the tags post-/art-rock with influences of garage rock and electronic indie, so it’s probably best you check ‘em out yourself, ready for wowing. Just three-days after their single Hits Like This drops, you really shouldn’t miss Crying In Colour’s emotionally-driven alt-rock and raw, fierce energy swirling around the basement from 7.30pm.
