Myopia + A Different Kitchen & Crying In Colour

£6.00
details on voodoodaddysshowroom.co.uk →

From heavy, Muse-inspired electronic sounds, to emotionally-charged rock epics, to a brand new, genre-defying montage of vibrations, Myopia’s music has evolved quickly and constantly over the years as the band now bring a certain style of music making, and obsessive passion that can only be compared to the innovativeness of artists like Radiohead. Myopia’s new EP What Happens Next? Features a mélange of raw, punk-fuelled, cut-throat catharsis from tracks like ‘Two on the Ground’, entwined with genuine softness and wistfulness, soured by bittersweet regret found in irony-laced summer bops like second single ‘The Way They Go Down’. Myopia’s newest project is for those who would self-identify as polyjamorous—those who like to play a little bit of everything when passed the aux. It’s for those who like to begin their listening experience with quick, intense emotional release, let loose, unleash their baggage. What Happens Next? Is an EP for those who enjoy the realness of music-induced relief, who aren’t afraid of the risk of shedding a tear or two. It’s for those who aren’t afraid of what happens next. A Different Kitchen, a project fuelled by remorse and shared through personal experience. Blurring the lines between psychedelic-rock and post-punk, the Norwich/Lincoln outfit have specialised in writing thoughtful and achingly personal songs, exploring the darker side of grief, loss and social injustice. The quintet pairs a unique blend of fragile emotion and unfiltered raw energy, resulting in an intense listening experience designed for live consumption. A Different Kitchen’s vulnerability and refreshing honesty have forged strong connections with audiences throughout the UK, with numerous features on BBC Radio 6 Music, the 5-piece are cultivating a close-knit fanbase that feels deeply connected to the collective journey. ‘Crying in Colour’ are a female-fronted alt rock band from Norwich who make noise and write deep lyrics. Musically, they take inspiration from a number of different genres including grunge, hard rock, pop punk and indie. Think early era ‘Paramore’ and grunge legends ‘Alice in Chains’. Although fairly fresh on the scene, they’re already making some waves, scoring BBC Introducing track of the week and taking their music to legendary local venues, opening for bands such as ‘Mouth Culture’.
