English electronic duo of brothers phil and paul hartnoll, named after the m25 motorway at the heart of the early rave scene. Their 1989 debut single chime, recorded on a four track at home, became a rave anthem and a uk top 20 hit, and later tracks such as halcyon made them one of the defining live acts of british dance music.
