regular nights

The open mics, jams and club nights that call this place home.

  • The Flex

A free hi-NRG and italo disco club night at the Rossi Bar, the small live-music and cocktail bar on Queens Road that leans on grassroots promoters. The Flex sticks to a tight vintage dancefloor brief: early-80s italo, hi-NRG and the electronic end of disco. It has turned up on Fridays at the Rossi Bar across 2026, starts at 8pm and is free to get in, over-18s.

  • The Flex - Hi NRG / Italo Disco

returns to the rossi bar on scattered dates (listed for january and august 2026) rather than on a stated fixed cycle

The Flex is a free club night in the basement of the Rossi Bar, just up from Brighton station, built around hi-NRG and italo disco. Expect dancefloor-focused vintage electronic dance music rather than a live band, from 8pm, over 18s only. It has run there across more than one date, though the bar does not advertise a fixed weekly or monthly slot, so check the venue listings before setting off.

  • Just Lust

monthly, the first saturday of the month · hosted by dj jimmy lager

A free monthly vinyl club night in the basement club of the Rossi Bar on Queens Road, Brighton. Resident DJ Jimmy Lager plays the whole thing off records, mixing punk and new wave with ska and 2-tone, soul, alternative 80s and pop. It runs on the first Saturday of the month from 8pm until late, over 18s only, with a dancefloor and seating downstairs and no entry charge. The night has been running at the Rossi Bar since at least 2024 and returned for a new run of dates through 2026.

  • The Spirit of Gravity

monthly, the first thursday of every month · hosted by the spirit of gravity collective, founded by nick rilke and tony rimbaud of maphead productions

Brighton's longest running experimental and electronic music night, run voluntarily since January 2001 by a collective of local electronic and experimental musicians. It was launched by Nick Rilke and Tony Rimbaud of Maphead Productions and has since presented hundreds of local and international artists, promoting an eclectic mix of leftfield, noise and electronic work that has nowhere else to go in the city. The night happens on the first Thursday of every month at the Rossi Bar, a short walk south of Brighton station, typically with three live acts plus visuals for a few pounds on the door. The collective also runs a monthly radio show, Gravity Waves and the Spirit World, on ResonanceExtra, and a pay-what-you-will net label on Bandcamp.
