  The Mesmerist's rooftop DJ series, running most Friday and Saturday nights on the covered and heated roof terrace above the Lanes. The venue books a rotating cast of Brighton DJs, producers and collectives, so the music moves across house, UK garage, breakbeat, UK funky and jungle rather than sticking to one sound. Entry is free and sets typically run from the evening through to the early hours. Good for an open-air dance in the middle of town without a ticket or a guest list.

  Deep Down Inside is a rooftop party at the Mesmerist in Brighton's Lanes, presented by the Brighton label and events crew Rhythmic Trifecta. The night runs as a journey through the history of house and UK garage, mixing iconic classics with contemporary club tracks and unreleased material from the Rhythmic Trifecta label. It takes over the pub's covered and heated roof terrace and runs late, and it returns on several dates across the year rather than being a one-off.

  A free weekly open mic at The Mesmerist in the heart of Brighton's Lanes, hosted by local acoustic musician Christian Cooley. Performers of all experience levels are welcome to sign up from 8pm, with live music kicking off at 8:30pm. Singers, songwriters, bands, and solo acts across any genre are all encouraged to take the stage, making it a friendly and well-established fixture for Brighton's live music community.

  Soulshyne is a free roof-terrace party on the top floor of the Mesmerist in the Lanes, run by the Brighton DJ collective of the same name. The music is soulful dance across the board, rare groove, disco and deep and soulful house, led by DJ Mick Fuller, a fixture of the city's dance scene. The terrace is covered and heated, so it runs year round, and there is no ticket: turn up and drink on the roof.
