Sekinue, the Brighton-based musical persona of Fior Anderson, emerges as a transcendent force in the alternative folk music scene. As a trans, queer multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter, Sekinue's journey into music took a transformative turn when they discovered the enchanting embrace of the lever harp five years ago. Brighton pianist and vocalist with more than twenty years of professional singing behind her, trained as an opera singer before moving across jazz, folk, pop and musical theatre. She leads a jazz ensemble devoted to the joni mitchell songbook and sings with a close-harmony beatles trio, and teaches voice at the brighton academy. At the nautilus lounge she plays solo piano from 9, a returning fixture rather than a one-off.
