RIFT Open Air is the outdoor edition of the RIFT party series, staged on the beach at Carats Cafe on the Southwick side of the seafront. It runs day into dark, starting mid-afternoon and going on into the night, with house and techno DJs on an open-air stage. The same promoter also puts on indoor RIFT nights at other seafront rooms, so the open-air dates land in the warmer months rather than on a regular cycle.

Brighton pianist and vocalist with more than twenty years of professional singing behind her, trained as an opera singer before moving across jazz, folk, pop and musical theatre. She leads a jazz ensemble devoted to the joni mitchell songbook and sings with a close-harmony beatles trio, and teaches voice at the brighton academy. At the nautilus lounge she plays solo piano from 9, a returning fixture rather than a one-off.
