Six By Seven

Six By Seven are an English indie rock band formed in Nottingham in the early 1990s. The acclaimed veterans, who formed in Nottingham in the 1990s - play alt-rock and neo-psychedelia tunes.

Led by singer, guitarist and songwriter Chris Olley, the band became known for their intense blend of space rock, shoegaze, psychedelia and post-rock. Their 1997 single “European Me” sold out rapidly, earning them a deal with Beggars Banquet and leading to their acclaimed debut album, The Things We Make (1998).

They followed it with The Closer You Get (2000), widely regarded as a landmark album. After several line-up changes and break-ups, Six by Seven have periodically reformed, continuing to perform and release music.

Six By Seven recorded 5 Peel sessions in their time as well as touring extensively, also supporting the likes of Ash, Manic Street Preachers, The Dandy Warhols, and Placebo. They also played on the acclaimed BBC Later With Jools Holland Show in 1998. This will be their first gig in Brighton since 2004.
