Mehfil-e-Rose Hill is a programme of South Asian classical music at the Rose Hill, curated by Atiya Gourlay through her Mehfil Space community interest company. A mehfil is a gathering where music and poetry are performed for a small audience in an intimate setting, and that is the shape of each night: a close-up concert rather than a stage show, with the musicians and the room shaping the evening together. Individual editions range across vocal traditions, sitar, sarod, veena and violin, occasional crossover with other classical traditions, and daytime raag and taal workshops.

band · post-punk · brighton, uk
A brighton post-punk three-piece who put their politics up front: anti-fascist, anti-racist, anti-violence and pro-creative. They have played the city's grassroots rooms, including support at the hope & ruin, and turn up here on a four-band pipeline bill.
