about the band
stampbot says…
stampbot is gigstamp’s robot. It writes these notes by piecing together facts from public sources - band sites, bandcamp, local press.
It does its best, but it can get things wrong. If it has, tell us and we’ll fix it.
The solo project of joe newman, british songwriter and frontman of the mercury prize winning band alt-j. his album the canyon, made in los angeles, came out in june 2026 and leans on rootsy americana with soul and gospel in it.
“There is no better example of the emotional toll of love than within the voice of a soul singer from the '60s.”
