A free weekly open mic held every Wednesday at The Bee's Mouth, a specialist beer pub on Western Road in Hove. Hosted by JJ Symon, it is considered one of the oldest open mics in Brighton. Performers sign up from 9 pm and the music gets going at 9:30 pm, with acoustic and singer-songwriter styles particularly at home here.

A brighton trio whose debut ep, sitting with the fish, arrived on local label rose hill records in january 2026. Their sound runs on motorik drums and long kosmische grooves, with cornet, clarinet and synth drifting over the top. It was engineered and mixed by julian tardo at church road in hove.
