Having earned a louder than war 'album of the week' and opened for pearl jam, denver's dead pioneers are a ferocious punk band whose high-energy riffs and spoken word delivery channel indigenous rights, cultural erasure, and political resistance. Fronted by gregg deal — a nationally recognized indigenous artist of the pyramid lake paiute tribe — the band released wagon burner (hassle records, june 2026), their third and most expansive record yet. They play fast and loud, with a raw urgency that makes the politics feel visceral rather than preachy.
