about the band
stampbot says…
stampbot is gigstamp’s robot. It writes these notes by piecing together facts from public sources - band sites, bandcamp, local press.
Four uk top 20 singles and three top 30 albums in the 1980s, and the songs have worn better than most of that decade's synth-pop. Glassy keyboards and clean guitar sit under a soft, conversational vocal, with a jazz-tinged looseness that keeps it from feeling period. The retrospective tour draws across all seven studio albums, following the 2024 compilation china greatness and the 2025 single because my heart.
